Newfoundland and Labrador infrastructure funding aims to make room for 1,800 homes

Published by · · Toronto

Federal, provincial and municipal governments announced more than C$23 million for 10 water and wastewater projects in Newfoundland and Labrador. Officials say the upgrades could support construction of up to 1,800 homes. Projects include work in Mount Pearl, Twillingate and Stephenville. The funding supports infrastructure for future housing; the announcement does not mean those homes have already been built.

Why it matters

Water and sewer capacity is part of the infrastructure needed to support additional housing.
