TTM agrees to buy Ophir Optics for about US$650 million

Published by · · Toronto

TTM Technologies announced on October 19 an agreement to buy MKS’s Ophir Optics business for about US$650 million in cash. The business makes infrared and laser optics for defence, security and industrial uses. TTM expects closing in the second quarter of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals and other conditions; the purchase is not completed.

Why it matters

The agreement excludes MKS’s separate Ophir Instruments business and does not transfer the Ophir brand.
